Bragging On The Man

I want to take a break from my favorite places to brag on my honey for a bit. If his work ever comes up in this blog -- ever -- I am going to omit names and places and such in order to provide some sense of professionalism, just F.Y.I.

Joe just started working a few weeks ago in a sales position at a fairly large corporation. He is working SO hard to provide for us in a somewhat difficult time of transition and he makes me SO proud every time he gets up to the stinking alarm! I love my husband, and I love our life together and I especially love waking up every morning knowing I have an unconditionally loving teammate in this roller coaster ride called life. This morning he made me even more happy when he came back into the room and apologized for keeping me up past my "bedtime" when I was commuting, because he understands that I actually WAS tired, :-) He's such a great and thoughtful man!!! He ABSOLUTELY made my day! I think he will have a surprise waiting for him when he gets home tonight...just don't know what...hmmm...any thoughts? Visit my contact page and let me know what you think it should be.

I just KNOW Joe is going to be a success in whatever he tries and I can't wait to see what big plans God has in store for him!!!

Ciao Bella!

Photo collages from my recent trip to Rome, Italy! I've been blessed to have visited on 3 separate occasions and am THRILLED to be sharing these snapshots of my favorite ancient place in Italy!

Paint The Town

Today in my favorite places we visit Chicago!
This post was inspired by my trip to the city a number of years ago. I and my mother won the American Girl grand prize trip for 8 to the only (at the time) American Girl Place. I guess I possibly fell in love with this city because I was having a blast and it was all free.
To this day though, I think Chicago is the cleanest city in the world! I swear when I was there I didn't see even a piece of gum on the ground and there were no people sleeping outside by the buildings that I saw.
I also wanted to post photos of Chicago because it is home to Wrigley field and the Chicago Cubs...my grandpa's favorite baseball team. So...I guess this one's for you grandpa!
Enjoy!

Oh! And the title of this post comes from one of my favorite musicals...Chicago!!!

Where were you?

My plan was to post photos of my next favorite place today. That place was going to be Chicago and then a Manhattan post was to follow shortly. But as I was sitting at my computer perusing images, a Yahoo! article popped up with these images from 9/11/2001.
I am choosing to post these photos not to start any political fires or to be making any sort of statement, but rather to simply...remember. This day was 10 years ago and I was very young but I still remember exactly how it played out.
If you continue to read this post and browse these photos, I only ask that you respect the day...respect the lives lost...and respect yourself.
